Three Nigeria Taekwondo competitors – Chinazum Nwosu, Ifeoluwa Ajayi and Isah Abubakar Adamu – were in action during the World Taekwondo G-2 ranked President Cup Africa, which held 29 March – 1st April 2018.

Ifeoluwa Ajayi, in his international debut, defeated Palestine’s Ghazawi Mohammad 14 – 7 in the round of 64, went on to narrowly edge out Senegal’s Mouhamed El Mactar Diao 16 – 15 in the round of 32 before succumbing to two-time world medallist, Mexico’s Villa in the round of 32.

Commonwealth Gold medalist, Isah Abubakar Adamu, defeated Morocco’s Hamza Mjibire  in the round of 32 before losing to former European Junior Champion, Spain’s Marcos Caballero Echevarria 11 – 5, in the round of 16.

African Silver Medalist, Chinazum Nwosu, lost in the round of 16 to Morocco’s Oumaima El Bouchti (20 – 7].

538 athletes from more than 58 countries spanning across Africa, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North America, and South America are registered to participate in the WT President’s Cup Africa.
